Community Outreach
Iowa Queer Student Alliance is a community-based organization that started in early 2023 to combat many of the Anti-LGBTQ+ Bills targeting our youth. Still, through this work, we learned how important the need for a space for our students to feel safe in was needed. Through this work we have built an amazing community of volunteers and supports that have rallied around us and uplifted our voices through:

-
The We Say Gay Walkouts 3/1/2023
-
Rally to Resist 3/5/2023
-
We Say Gay Rally 3/9/2023
-
We Say Gay Sit in 3/9/2023

Rural Outreach
Our goal is to bring queer students living in rural communities together around the state. All students deserve to feel safe, valued, and supported in their own hometowns. Our Fall ‘23 outreach goals are to visit at least 8 different rural areas to connect students together. We also hold monthly game nights and book club meetings online that are open to all.
